Today, I saw something truly awesome at the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport.
An airport security officer riding through the terminal on a bicycle.
It was so much more confidence-affirming than when they’re riding along on Segways…
A few years ago a bicyclist was stopped by the police while riding away from the terminal, and tased and arrested (and his bicycle destroyed) when he started to argue with the cops. (http://eyeteeth.blogspot.com/2007/07/cyclist-tasered-for-riding-bike-at-msp.html)
I hope bike patrols are a sign that the airport police have learned something.
